Retailers and opening date announced for new Radstock retail scheme
A new retail scheme in Radstock in Somerset has got off to a storming start, with commitment from four new tenants even before construction work began, leaving just one unit still to let. Contractors moved in on site to commence the redevelopment works at the end of November with handover to the new occupiers now planned for 1 April 2018.
The exciting lineup includes Subway, Nature’s Vet, Snap Fitness, a 24 hour operator and 13 branch regional DIY specialists Proper Job, who have all taken units at the new 22,065 sq ft (2,025 sq m) development on the former Charlton’s Timber Yard on Frome Road. A final unit of 2,687 sq ft (250 sq m) remains available. The new site also has 39 onsite parking spaces.
Bristol-based Williams Gunter Hardwick have been marketing the development for site owners and former occupiers of, AJ Charlton & Sons Ltd, in conjunction with development managers, Box Property Group.
“This is a great start for the scheme” says Stuart Williams, Director of Williams Gunter Hardwick. “But it’s not totally surprising. Radstock is a busy town but not that well served with shops and parking.
“Radstock town centre, combined with adjoining town of Midsomer Norton, serves a population of around 11,000, and the new development is in a prominent location, fronting the busy Frome Road yet adjacent to the town centre whilst opposite a new housing development.
“We are talking to a number of potential takers for the last unit, and hope to make an announcement in the near future. Securing a compatible use is an important consideration” says Mr Williams.
