HAWKIN’S BAZAAR ANNOUNCES 2011 SHOP EXPANSION PLANS
One of the UK’s leading toy, gift and gadget retailers, Hawkin's Bazaar, has announced plans to find 60 temporary units in town centres across the UK in time for this year’s Christmas trading.
Bristol based surveyors, Williams Gunter Hardwick, have been reappointed as agents to find the prime shops ranging in size from 93 – 163 sq m (1000-1750 sq ft) in major towns and cities throughout the UK.
The retailer has exciting expansion plans spearheaded by the appointment of new CEO, Lyle Finlay brought in from TX Maxx last year.
Finlay has an impressive retail pedigree. During his time as managing director of Claire’s Accessories, he built the retailer up from 40 to 350 stores. He has also worked at Nike, Shoefayre and furniture chain Natuzzi.
Lyle Finlay said; “We have found that our temporary store strategy works really well for our busiest time of the year between November and December. This year we want to be ahead of ourselves to find the best units available.”
Stuart Williams, director at Williams Gunter Hardwick, says; “This is our 10th consecutive year of working with Hawkin’s Bazaar and this year we are keen to speak to landlords and retailers with empty shops in busy high street and shopping centre locations across the UK as far as the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Northern Ireland.”
