Move goes ahead for games company Travelling Man

Travelling Man, specialist retailers in comic books, board games and role play games, have moved to larger premises in York – giving them space to hold board gaming evenings upstairs.
The company has four branches in the North of England – in Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle and York – and the new move takes them from a small retail unit in Goodramgate to larger premises at 74, Goodramgate, York, slightly closer to the main shopping pitch.
Williams Gunter Hardwick acted on their behalf, acquiring the premises on a 10-year lease with a five-year break clause. As well as 888 sq ft of ground floor sales area, the building has 1,248 sq ft of first floor space, which will provide a venue for games enthusiasts locally.
“We see board games and role play games as activities which bring people together face to face rather than distant online events,” says Nabil Homsi of Travelling Man. “They are about friendship, community and good traditional fun. The new premises will give us plenty of room to accommodate games evenings.”
“Games are a significant part of the leisure sector,” says Stuart Williams of Williams Gunter Hardwick, “and an expanding one too. We’ve acted on behalf of Travelling Man for over 15 years now and seen them grow from just one outlet to four.”
